Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father was a teacher while her mother was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three oldest brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing in her early years and frequently performed plays with puppets for the children from her neighborhood. At the age of six, McCormick older, she was crowned her first prize in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley pageant. Pat Domigan at Jack Wormser Agency phoned and asked her whether she'd be interested in entering show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her first major part in 1964, in a tv commercial for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. Later that year she did another commercial for the companys Chatty Cathy doll and was soon cast in the play Wind It up until It Breaks at the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned for the role of the oldest daughter in the trio of towheaded girls in The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a blended family. The show ran for five seasons and the show was a success. McCormick in her memoir Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick revealed how during the fifth season of the TV show she almost lost their virginity to sister Barry Williams. She was just 16 at the time; he was 19. The incident could have occurred, she stated, but the time was never right for us.
