Maureen FitzSimons, better known as Maureen O'Hara in America, was an exceptional child. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons complete this wonderful family. Maureen loved playing rough sports when she was young and became very adept in them. Her passion for sports was matched by an equally natural gift for performing. As evidenced by winning pretty much every Feis award for drama or performances in the theater that her nation offered. Her acceptance at the Abbey Theater by age 14 She then continued to pursue her dream of opera as well as classical theater and singing.
