Jennifer Lopez

JenniferJennifer always longed to be multi-tasking and a star. She was a fan of diverse music styles when she was a child, and particularly Afro-Caribbean beats, such as salsa, merengue, and the bachata. Later on, as an adult her preferred genres included popular pop, R&B along with hip-hop. Music was her passion, but she was also fascinated by motion picture industry. West Side Story (1961) was the Rita Moreno musical that influenced her most as well as her main source of inspiration. At 5, Jennifer began taking singing and dancing lessons. Jennifer was also an entertainer and a Catholic schoolgirl, attended for eight years at Holy Family Catholic Elementary School located in The Bronx. After a four-year stay in the Bronx, she graduated from Preston High School, an all-girls prep school. Jennifer performed well in the sports department during her time at school, and was a champion in tennis as well as the track and field. Her home in the Castle Hill neighbourhood was her place of residence for the bulk of her time. At 18, Jennifer moved out of her parent's home. In the meantime, Lopez worked at a law firm and took dance classes at night.
